Megan's Senior Portraits - Houston Arboretum

Megan's Senior Portraits - Houston Arboretum

I don’t typically take senior portraits since my photography is more casual than stylized but a friend referred Megan’s mom to me and once we chatted we agreed that that is what they were looking for. We met early in the morning at the Houston Arboretum in mid March. In Houston’s temperate weather, this means the weather is warm enough for short sleeves and the foliage at the Arboretum was starting to grow back. It created a nice mix of green and browns.

What I love about the Arboretum is the lines – curved and straight – created by the various decked trails throughout the variety of ecosystems that are all contained within the nature center. Combined with the scenery and you have some wonderful backgrounds for portraits.

I knew I had to grab a picture in front of these small white blooms that were all along one of the trails.

Megan had brought this colorful dress for an outfit change towards the end of the session.

Finally, I leave you with a black and white image. Every now & then a picture asks to be converted and I loved how the chevron pattern in Megan’s blouse looked in black and white.
